Rue Saint-Charles

Found this gem on the way to check out an apartment. This sign was the only aesthetically pleasing part our journey to the Charlevoix stop.

I appreciate this sign’s proper punctuation. Blech to the TGI Fridays awning.

This photo brought to you by Andrew of van*gloria. I hope the band takes more photos like this on their tour!

Travel!

I will be in NYC and Montreal ’til May 28th. Posts will be sporadic at best. I hope to return with lots of Canadian (exotic!) signage shots.

My parents’ favorite BBQ in Austin. Great ribs, great bread, humorous sign. A good experience all around.

8th Street

heart-motel1This is an amazing sign. The motel’s name can’t be seen from the street, instead a lovely archway welcomes you. Absolutely adorable.

I’d been trying to get a good angle on this sign for a couple months now. Turns out a Sunday evening is the best time to make a quick stop for a shot.

live-bait4Seen at Tropical Park in South Miami. Disgustingly charming.

live-bait-23To me, Night Crawler is an X-Men character… no idea what a Shiner is.

Cesar Chavez Street

austin-powerI’m glad I took this photo on a cloudy day – makes the building more ominous – more Metropolis.

botanica-sign

Botanica La Esperanza. There are at least three different type treatments of the store name, all in pink and green. This one is my favorite because it lights up the entire window with pretty pink light.
