LOWELL, INDIANA

While trying to find I-65 from Chicago we stopped in Lowell and followed signs to the USA Fuel Stop & Mini Mart. There was no gas station and Conela seemed to have taken her cafe elsewhere.

Broadway & 21st Street

A friend of mine shared this on Google Reader (via Ephemeral New York) along with this note:
This deli (Sunshine Deli) is around the corner from my office. I noticed this morning that their ugly awning had been removed. This sign is so wonderful and it totally made my morning. I hope they don’t cover it back up!

Chris tried to get away, but I caught him. Oh yes.

RUE MILTON & RUE SAINTE-FAMILLE

Spotted this fire alarm while my dog was trying to find a good spot to squat. The yellow paint is also bland and depressing in real life, but I appreciate the attempt to spruce up the building.

Miami was mean to me—there wasn’t a day of sunshine during the trip.

Parc du Mont-Royal

This is the first time I’ve seen the city’s icon on such a decrepit sign—I love it!

What an exciting find! — not that I had to look very hard — this massive ship was waiting for me when I stepped outside the Montreal Science Center, just as the sun was setting.

Made me think of the ship we watched pass through the Panama Canal (despite torrential rains).
